I am a Portuguese immigrant, a wife, a mother of two girls (now women), a two-time cancer survivor, a professional (work full-time) and a lover of arts and crafts.
I watched talented creators on social media make beautiful books and decided to try making one myself. I learn through a hands-on approach by experimenting and making mistakes... it's just paper and glue after all right? I enjoy showing others how I make these "junk journals" and encourage and support anyone wanting to learn.
My "specialty" would be making 3D elements and thinking "outside of the box". I also enjoy taking my unique creations and what seems to be a difficult or complicated piece of ephemera and breaking it down step by step with pictures so that anyone can follow an instruction sheet and make it their own.
My goal is to inspire others to find their artistic ability and help them nourish it. One day I hope to be able to take this hobby and turn it into a viable full-time business. In the meantime, I will continue to create books, folios, and ephemera to share with others!
